Zoanthids, also known as Zoas, are a great addition to any aquarium. Several of the bonuses of these corals are they are extremely hardy, on our coral care scale we rate them at about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 - they also come in an endless array of beautiful colors, and they multiply rather quickly, so even frags can become whole colonies in barely any time at all. The only downside to Zoanthids is they do have the ability to release a rather potent chemical called palytoxin. This toxin can harm corals that are nearby and we recommend the use of activated carbon if you are going to house Zoanthids in your aquarium. Zoanthids can get by with simple lights like T5 lighting, and they will benefit from supplemental feeding from phytoplankton and zooplankton.
