Soft corals are rarely seen in the hobby these days and we don't really understand why. Years ago these were one of our top sellers when it comes to Leather Coral, Pulsing Xenia, Mushroom Coral, Toadstool Coral and more. These corals are kind of hard to rate on our care level chart; we would say about a 5. Soft corals a lot of the time can be rather temperamental when it comes to tank conditions. The slightest change and they can shed and deteriorate. They enjoy moderate light, medium to low water flow, and will benefit from supplemental feeding of both phytoplankton and zooplankton. These corals, in general, are not too aggressive towards being housed with other corals. Make sure not to put them up too high in your aquarium or they can get burnt rather easily.
